Energy-Efficient Fiberglass Windows

Milgard’s Ultra Series Fiberglass windows are the frontrunner in energy-efficient frame materials because they expand and contract at the same rate as glass, making them excellent at preventing air leakage, minimizing heat transfer, and reducing energy bills.

Energy-Efficient Vinyl Windows

Milgard Tuscany and Milgard Trinsic vinyl window frames expand and contract more than fiberglass yet remain a highly efficient, durable, and cost-effective frame material that delivers on energy efficiency.

Energy-Efficient Clad-Wood Windows

Andersen E-Series clad-wood vinyl windows are manufactured using high-quality wood in various species and finishes and an aluminum exterior to resist water and seal out the elements to maintain efficiency.

Protect Your Everett Home With The Latest Energy-Efficiency Technologies

Energy Star-certified energy-efficient windows are designed to minimize heat transfer using the latest energy-saving technologies, resulting in a comfortable indoor temperature, a reduced carbon footprint, and a lighter load for your HVAC system, reducing energy costs. To minimize the effects of air leakage, convection currents, and solar radiation, each component of an energy-efficient window utilizes one of the following technologies

  • Multi-Layer Glass Panes – provide significantly better insulation compared to single-pane glass windows. Double-pane and triple-pane windows utilize multiple panes of glass with a sealed compartment between each to reduce heat transfer by allowing fewer UV rays to pass through the window, keeping your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

  • Gas-Filled Panes – Inert gases like Krypton and Argon are injected between glass panes to further reduce heat transfer due to their ability to slow the movement of hot and cold air significantly. With these inert gases, double-pane windows effectively provide three layers of insulation, while triple-pane windows provide five protective layers.

  • Window Frame Materials – High-quality frame materials like fiberglass and vinyl expand and contract at a much lower rate than older frame materials like wood, making them a far more stable material, reducing air leakage and rapid heat conduction.

  • Low Emissivity (Low-E) Window Coating – are microscopically thin layers of transparent metal or metallic oxide between the window panes to reflect solar energy. Low-E coating can increase a window’s energy performance by as much as 40% by reducing its solar heat gain coefficient, the ability to reflect and radiate heat rather than absorb it.

  • Window Spacers – Non-metal and metal hybrid window spacers are installed between the multi-layer glass at the edges to improve insulation, prevent condensation, and further reduce heat transfer.
